Rimmel ScandalEyes Shadow Stick, Blamed Blue

29 June 2014

I think cream eyeshadow sticks are perfect for Summer no fuss needed just a complete eye look in one product, so when i spotted the amazing colour of the Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick i just had to get it. I have a few of the Rimmel Scandaleyes Liners which i really like so i was hoping to be equally impressed with the Shadow Sticks.
I picked up the shade 009 Blamed Blue, which is just the most gorgeous vivid mid toned ocean blue, its not got any glitter of shimmer it just has such a pretty sheen to it when it catches the light.
The Scadaleyes Shadow Sticks are really creamy and so easy to apply, wether you want to use them just to line the eyes or as an all over colour they work great for both. The great thing is like i've shown in the picture above, there so easily bendable so you can get a great smudged out look depending on how bold you of soft you want the colour.
The long-lasting Waterproof formula means these are great to put on in warm weather, or if you want something that is going to stay on in the sea or pool on holiday, i think the colour lasts really well and you will need a good old clean with some makeup remover to get it off.
The other great thing about the long-lasting formula, is that it doesn't crease on the eyes, as there is nothing worse than when an eye product looks like it's literally melting on your eyes!
I am really loving this Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick it will definitely be coming away with me on holiday as its just perfect for a simple and Summery stand out eye look that will last in the heat.

Have you tried the Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks?

It looks like so much all typed out, i think i've taken about the same as last time... maybe slightly more but as my makeup collection grows it does make it so much harder to choose. I also like to really experiment with my makeup when I'm on holiday and play with a bit more colour than usual so i've noticed i've picked more bolder shades for my lips this time and instead of bringing one of my neutral Naked Palettes i've brought my Bright Sleek Del Mar and Original palette which is a mixture so i have lots of variety.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what makeup i choose to bring on holiday with me, i was going to do a what's in my suitcase but it would just have been ridiculous to try and show all of my clothes, however I'm going to take outfit pictures so i will do a holiday outfits post when I'm back.

Pre-Holiday Beauty Preperation

24 June 2014

We all like to look our best when we go on holiday, i don't know if its just me but the thought of spending a week in a bikini is enough to get me in a mild panic and get me doing some serious pre-holiday beauty prep.
So as i'm off on holiday today (yayyy) i thought i would do a post showing you the beauty prep i spent the majority of my day yesterday doing to get myself beach ready!

Exfoliating and Moisturising-
Now this is something i've been trying to keep on top of for the last couple of weeks in preparation, as we all know the best way to get a good even tan natural or fake is to keep your skin fresh, smooth and exfoliated so i have been using my Garnier Oil Beauty Scrub pretty regularly in the shower to keep my skin soft and smooth and too remove all my old fake tan so my skin will be nice and fresh for optimum tanning. The other important thing is to keep the skin moisturized so after scrubbing the skin in the shower i make sure i apply my current favorite the Vaseline Spray& Go body moisturiser which is quick and easy to use and leaves the skin soft an smelling lovely.

Hair Removal-
Obviously when your going to spending the week in very little clothing hair removal is a must you don't want to be the hairy mary by the pool!
Some of you more glamourous and organized ladies may well keep your hair removal in check, if your like me however and only really shave those legs consistently when you A- are planning on wearing a skirt/dress and really have to or B- have a bf (and sometimes not even then) then your going to need to get rid of it, i have pretty sensitive skin so i use a sensitive Nair removal cream for more delicate areas (bikini line) and a sensitive Gillette razor for the rest.

Face and Hair Mask-
So scrubbed moisturized and fur free, i like to have a little pamper a use a face mask to freshen up the skin, the Ren Invisible Pores is one of my favorites to really de-clog the pores and leave the face smooth and clean. Knowing that my hair will be getting a bit of a battering with the not so healthy mixture of heat, chlorine and salt, that holidays bring i like to give my hair a bit of a treat before i go just so it's feeling soft and nourished, i've only used it a few times but i am loving the Philip Kingsley Elasicizer it leaves my hair feeling amazing.

Fake Tan-
Some people may think this is an unnecessary step but to me it is 100% necessary, yes i may be going on holiday to get a natural tan but that doesn't happen instantly, and i personally feel at my happiest with  a bit of colour to my skin, so i like to apply some fake tan before i go to tide me over until my natural tan starts to show through.

Eyebrows-
Im so rubbish with my eyebrows, i hate doing them but luckily they don't seem to grow too out of control if i don't do them regularly, but of course no full body pamper would be complete with out giving the brows a bit of attention, i don't do too much to the shape just pluck any stray hairs.

Mani/Pedis-
Finally no beauty prep can be complete without a bit of attention to those nails. I decided not to paint my nails with normal polish as it just chips so easily when your on holiday so i thought i would use my Sensationail gel kit because it literally lasts weeks without chipping which makes it perfect for holidays. For my feet i will give them a bit of attention with my Avon Foot Scrub to get rid of any dry skin moisturize and apply some fresh polish (i don't think i could manage the gel kit on my toes) i like to use a bright Summery Colour one of my current favorites is BarryM's Papaya.

So thats what I like to do do before a holiday to get me primped, preened and feeling my best. Do you have a pamper day before your holiday?
What's your routine?

OOTD// River Island Floral Skirt

22 June 2014

Skirt- River Island
Crop Top- Topshop
Sunglasses- Primark
Necklace- Primark

I realized the other day that this was one of my favorite skirts and yet i've never blogged about it and that seemed wrong to me, so i thought it was about time i featured it in an outfit post.
The skirt is from River Island i bought it a few months back now and have worn it to death since it goes with so many different tops, plain T's to dress it down, satin camis to dress it up a and i love it with the simple lemon crop top I'm wearing it with here. River Island actually did the matching little jacket to this skirt which i also loved but at £50 i just couldn't justify buying it...sob!
The shoes are another fairly recent purchase that definitely deserve a mention, how amazing are they when i first spotted them on Public Dersire's lust worthy Instagram account i fell in love, but they sold out so quick it seemed like i had to wait forever for them to come back in sock but I'm so glad i did there just the perfect Summer heels to go with everything!

I hope you like my outfit, what do you think of the shoes?

Primark Summer/Holiday Haul

19 June 2014

Primark Summer/holiday haul
Primark Summer/holiday accessory haul

I recently had a little trip into Primark to look for a Summery beach hat i could wear on holiday (i go next Tuesday eeek!) And as you may be able to tell by the pictures, i did not buy the hat i went in for however, i did buy a random assortment of other holiday clothes and accessories that i probably didn't really need but needed up buying anyway...what can i say i have zero self control when it comes to shopping and at Primarks bargain prices i didn't feel too guilty.

Bright Print Playsuit £5-
I know this print is not for the faint hearted, its in fact even brighter in person that it has come up in the pictures. It just stood out to me the minute i saw it and screamed holiday at me. I love the mixture of the neon pink, turquoise and yellow together such bold Summery colours. The style is pretty loose fitting and simple with an elasticated waist to gives it some shape. I thought it would be the  perfect thing to throw on the way to the beach, and for just £5 you cant go wrong really.
playsuit

Pink & Black Embellished Tribal Playsuit £10-
I love, love, love this playsuit! It looks a lot better on than it does on the hanger, its a lovely fit, loose shorts with an elasticated waist and halter neck top. The Print is quite bold but due to the majority of the print being more muted colours its not overpowering. It's actually a mixture of white, black and grey mixed with a small bit of neon pink. It also has a pretty embellished detail around the neck which i love and means you don't need a necklace to accessories.

White Sunglasses £2-
I have plenty of pair of sunglasses, and did i really need any more no, but i seem to have a massive obsession with having everything white lately, i also love the style i think they are quite retro and again another bargain at £2.

Necklace £6-
I am most definitely not over my statement necklace obsession, i just love how there such a simple way to dress up an outfit and add an interesting touch. I loves this one its stunning and I think it will get a lot of wear when I'm on holiday, and the neutral colours mean it will go with everything.

Circle Earrings £1.50-
As i love my statement necklaces i usually wear small earrings nothing to dramatic otherwise i feel it looks a bit ott. I loved these earrings their just simple circle's with stones in the middle but i think they've definitely got a bit of a holiday vibe and i think they will go well with the necklace.

6 Pack of Studs £1.50
I thought these were really pretty and Summery and would be great to take on holiday as there is a great selection. And also if they do go a lovely shade of green or you lose a few in the pool, for £1.50 for the set its not gonna be the end of the world.

Daisy Headband ££1.50 and Flower Bun Ring £2.00-
I don't no what it is about holidays that has me purchasing flower garlands and headbands that i wouldn't normally wear on an everyday basis! I think it just comes with the territory, holidays, festivals you need your flower head gear apparently...
I thought the daisy headband was really pretty, i  actually think its from the Girls section but it fits me anyway so who cares! I had seen a few people wearing these bun flower things so i thought i would get one great for keeping my hair out of the way in the pool or sea and still looking nice.

So thats everything, i hope you enjoyed seeing my holiday bargains I'm sure you will see me wearing them in some holidays posts when i get back!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation For Oily Skin?

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation Fuji

As i told you last week, i recently decided to treat myself to some Nars goodies,
along with Laguna (review here) the other product i had been dying to try was Nars Sheer Glow foundation. Sheer Glow is another cult product that everybody raves about, but i'll admit although i had wanted to try it for some time i did have some reservations. Having oily skin i was concerned about how a product entitled 'Sheer Glow" would last on me and wether or not i would end up looking less glow and more oil slick..

Colour-
Due to the fact that i don't have a Nars counter anywhere near me, this meant doing a fair bit of research beforehand to try and work out what shade i would be as there would be nothing worse than picking the wrong colour and wasting my money.
I looked for blog reviews where the blogger had similar colorings to me or wore some of the same shades as me in other foundations, i also took into account that i have a warm skintone and suit more yellow toned foundations. I decided to go for the shade Fuji which is the Light 5 (1 is the lightest and 6 is the darkest of the Light shades) Fuji is described as being light with yellow undertones which sounded exactly what i was looking for.
I definitely made the right choice, Fuji is my perfect match, i would even go as far as to say its the best colour match i've ever found in a foundation!

Coverage/Finish-
The first time i tried Sheer Glow i was really surprised at how thick it was, being called Sheer i was expecting a really thin runny foundation, however when i went to tip a bit out onto my hand i was surprised when nothing came out, in-fact i actually just dip my foundation brush into the bottle as its easier. Even though its thicker than i expected in consistency, the Sheer in the name clearly came about by the beautiful light finish it gives to the skin. I would say coverage wise its medium but can be built up if desired, i was really impressed with the coverage as i was hoping it wasn't too light but it defiantly covers the skin nicely masking minor skin imperfections without being heavy or cakey.
Another thing i love about this foundation is how a little bit goes a long way i really don't use a lot but it blends like a dream and covers the skin well. The finish is just so nice, it leaves your skin glowy and healthy looking.

Longevity-
On to the thing i was most worried about how long will it last on my oily skin? For me i no that i can never just slap some foundation on and expect it to be firmly in place 8 hours later, my skin is very oily and finding a foundation that will last has always been a struggle for me, the best i've ever found for its lasting power is Estee Luders Double wear foundation which will last all day (with touch ups) the worst can slide of my face in a few hours. So how does Sheer Glow fare? It doesn't last as long as Double Wear but to be honest i didn't expect it to being a Sheer Glowy finish, however i was pleasantly surprised with how long it does last, i would say it looks fine on my skin for about four hours before i will definitely need to blot and apply some powder and thats pretty good for my skin, in fact i think it pretty much in even pegging with Vichy Dermablend foundation (another one of my favorites) for longevity and that has is a much heavier coverage foundation.

My Thoughts-
Well i am happy to say that Nars Sheer Glow gets a Glowing report from me (see what i did there)...
It has exceeded all my expectations, i am so happy that although i was worried about how it would work for oily skin that i decide to try it, it really is an amazing foundation it makes your skin healthy looking and flawless and there is an amazing range of shades to suit all skin-tones. I now have a new favorite foundation!

Has anyone else tried Sheer Glow? Do you love it as much as I do?

The Chi Chi Pabla Dress

15 June 2014

Shoes- Primark
Bracelets- Primark

Hello lovelies, i hope you've all had a great weekend and have had the chance to enjoy some of the sunshine.
I've got a beautiful dress to share with you today from Chi Chi Clothing, who sell the most glamourous of dresses that are just perfect for special occasions.
The dress I'm wearing is the Pabla dress, its a prom style dress, with a fitted black lace top and pink  flared silky skirt.
Now let me just tell you what i love about this dress, the style is so pretty and feminine yet the simple style gives it a sophisticated edge, i just feel amazing when I'm wearing it, its one of those sort of dresses you put on and you want to twirl around in it like you did when you were little (Or still do if your like me) The back of the dress has a cutout detail, done up with a pretty bow, you don't need to worry about finding the perfect bra that wont show over the low back or through the lace as there is a fitted bra in the dress, which i think is a great idea and saves a lot of hassel.
There's also a slip inside the dress so if you want to wear tights with the dress you don't need to worry about the skirt netting laddering them, they just think of everything.
The dress really is beautifully put together so much detail in a simple yet stunning dress, its perfect for Summer occasions like weddings and parties or if someone special wants to whisk you out to a romantic dinner in a fancy restaurant... well a girl can dream!

So if you have a special occasion this Summer definitely check Chi Chi out and let me no which dress your loving!

South West Blog Social Event

13 June 2014

The Blog Cocktail

Last Saturday i was lucky enough to be one of the 100 bloggers to attend the South West Blog Social in Exeter. The event was held in Oddfellows bar just off the main highstreet, which Tasha (my lovely travel buddy) and i managed to find with a little help from google maps...
The bar was a lovely and full to the brim with bloggers, after checking our names of the guest-list and receiving our wrist bands i took care of the necessary and hot footed it to the bar to get a cocktail.
I decided i had to try the BLOG Cocktail specially created for the event, each letter stands for a different ingredient, Blackcurrent, Lime and Gin is all i remember im afraid no idea what the O ingredient was but it was delicious.

Tasha and I

We went and joined a lovely little group of blogger friends tucked away in a little nook, some i had met before at the last event i attended, we all had a little chat and some got some lunch before it was almost time to head upstairs to the top bar were the talks were being held.

Lovely Blogger Friends (1st pic) Amy, Myself and Tasha (2nd pic) Emily, Hannah, Carly, Becky and Harriette.
Before heading upstairs we had a little snoop around the beauty and hair stations, where i had some pastel chalk colour put im my hair by the lovely ladies from ELK Salon. There was also a lady doing makeup and and a lady doing some fabulous nail art, unfortunately i didn't get the chance to get mine done.

The Hair Station
The Makeup and Nail Station

Ruth giving her talk

There was plenty of opportunities throughout the day to network and meet other bloggers, and also talks and cocktail making classes, so plenty going on to keep us occupied. I managed to make two of the talks, unfortunately i missed the rest as i went out to do a bit of shopping whilst i was in Exeter.
The first talk i went to was by Maria Mcarthy a Journalist and Author who spoke to us about Print Media and getting published, and the second talk i managed to catch was by Ruth Douglas did a talk entitled What makes you you? all about finding your blogging voice, both talks were really interesting and i think it was a great idea to have talks and workshops at the event.

Gorgeous Kimonos
Quiz Goodies
Inbetween talks and things we were free to mingle, i had a little wander around there was an area set up where you could leave your buisness cards (i wish id had some made, fail!) and a board to sign all of our blog names on great ideas for networking.
There was a few stands set up the beautiful Kimonos pictured above are a collection from a local designer Claudia Meller, how amazing are they i wish id had more pennies available because i definitely would have snapped one up!
I also had a chat with the lovely Jennie who was representing Quiz Clothing, they had an area filled with Quiz goodies, we also got to take away in our goodie bags a Quiz biscuit, pen, Lookbook and a 10% off discount code.

Fab goodie bag treats
Beautiful necklace from Erin Cox
I had to leave a bit early to catch my train so i did miss the raffle, before i left i was given an amazing goodie bag filled with products from Yves Rocher, Clique Magazine, Quiz  and more. We were also each presented with an envelope filled with vouchers and discounts from local businesses and even a free scarf from The Real Mccoy and a free Necklace from Erin Cox for every blogger that attended, i picked up my free Mini Pearl Floating Pendant worth a whopping £35 how amazing is that!
By the time i got home i was absolutely nackard, but i had the most brilliant day. It was great cating up with old blogger friends and making new ones, i find my confidence seems to grow after each new event i attend and i always find myself feeling really inspired.
Big thanks to the event organisers Jodie and Albertine, as i think you will agree, that they did such a brilliant job!
